science [egg drop]

Aim: I want to investigate how to build a Parachute
 to protect my egg

Research:
Cut the grocery bag down to a large flat square.
Trim off the corners of the square so you now have an octagon (8-sided shape).
Use the hole-punch to punch small holes near each angle.
Put clear tape over the holes as reinforcement, and then punch holes again.
Tie one end of each piece of yarn to each hole.
Pull the other ends of the 8 pieces of yarn together, and tie them in a knot.
Push your small toy through the knot. Now you have a parachutist!
Hold the parachute out in front of you, above your head with both hands and release it.

Method:

Equipment:
Lightweight plastic bag
Scissors
Hole Puncher
8 pieces of yarn or twine, cut to the same length
Clear tape
1 egg

Instruction:

1. Cut the grocery bag down to a large flat square.

2. Trim off the corners of the square so you now have an octagon (8-sided shape).

Mouth

  • This is where we ingest food
  • We do this using our teeth
  • Canine teeth stab and rip food
  • Incisors cut our food
  • Our molar masticate (grind) the food
  • The Salivary Glands release saliva into our mouth
  • Saliva starts to break down sugars and lubricates the food

Oesophagus

  • This is a tube connecting the mouth to the stomach
  • Food is pushed down to the stomach by the action of peristalsis

Stomach

  • The stomach churns food into a paste.
  • Some food is broken down in the stomach.
  • Stomach acid kills bacteria.

Duodenum

  • This is the first part of the Small Intestine
  • More chemicals are added in from the Pancreas and Gall Bladder

Pancreas

  • This adds a chemical into the duodenum to neutralise the stomach acid
  • The Pancreas also adds more chemicals into the duodenum to break down food.
Gall Bladder

Small Intestines

I wonder who is the oldest person to be alive

A tiny, 116-year-old Italian woman — what the key to her longevity is and her response might surprise you. The Guinness World Records confirmed on Monday that Emma Morano of Verbania, Italy is now the oldest living person at 116 years and 169 days old.

In a 2015 interview with the New York Times, Morano shared that she attributes her long life to eating three raw eggs a day. She has since gone down to two eggs a day since she was in her teens

She also largely credits her impressive lifespan with being single. Although Morano had many “suitors” following the end of an unhappy marriage in 1938, she never remarried. “I didn’t want to be dominated by anyone,” Morano said.

When Morano was told that she now holds the title of the oldest person alive, she told the Telegraph via her caretaker, Rosi Santoni, “My word, I’m as old as the hills.”

I wonder why we get grey hair

As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent colour like grey, silver, or white as it grows.

Music{Reflection Blog}

in music, I learnt how to dance and I also learnt how to sing I also learnt how to be more confident.

it shows my work because it shows me dancing{macarena} it was funny cause all the boys were doing it and we looked so cool.

I enjoyed the singing because it was challenging but fun at sometimes, like when manasa and I were screaming out loud.

I found the dancing bit challenging cause it was a bit hard to learn the macarena.

I would've done a different dance and a different song
